CQC Five Key Questions

There are five key questions that CQC may refer to during inspections.

SAFE, EFFECTIVE, CARING, RESPONSIVE, WELL-LED

The five key questions focus on the Health and Social Care Act (2008 Edition).

The CQC are expecting the key questions to ensure consistency when they are making judgments about a practice.

Each key question is a host for a number of regulations.

The dental provider handbook outlines detailed information about the Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOE) and what questions you should expect to be asked.

It is up to the practice to demonstrate compliance for each regulation - the CQC recognise that each individual practice may demonstrate compliance in a number of ways. So the list in the handbook is not exhaustive and the CQC advise you not to use this as a checklist. It is purely to guide you.
