CQC Services

The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and social care in England.

The role of the CQC is to make sure health and social care providers offer safe, effective, high quality care to people who use the services.

The CQC monitor, inspect and regulate to make sure that service providers are meeting the new fundamental standards. The CQC have the ability to prosecute providers of dental care if a breach of regulation takes place.

The CQC say:

" Our Principles:

  • We put people who use services at the centre of our work
  • We are independent, rigorous, fair and consistent
  • We have an open and accessible culture
  • We work in partnership across the health and social care system
  • We are committed to being a high performing organisation and apply the same standards of continuous improvement to ourselves that we expect of others
  • We promote equality, diversity and human rights

Fundamental Standards - 5 key questions:

  • Are they safe?
  • Are they effective?
  • Are they caring?
  • Are they responsive?
  • Are they well-led? "

It is vital for a provider of dental care to prepare in advance to comply with CQC regulations. The provider of the service needs to ensure that the Fundamental Standards of the Care Quality Commission are being met.
