Paragraph 19.2

These schemes should be written by experienced and competent people.

What the changes mean and how do they affect your practice?

The 2009 Edition stated that ‘competent persons who are members of the Legionella Control Association are able to produce written schemes to the required standard’.

It has now been replaced in the 2013 Edition with the paragraph above.

Isopharm strongly recommends that members of the Legionella Control Association are consulted.


Paragraph 19.38 

Advice on the use of biocides should be sought from the person advising the practice on Legionella.

What the changes mean and how do they affect your practice?

The 2013 Edition refers again to use a Legionella consultant. Treatment recommendations have been removed as it is deemed that the consultant provide these.
